Marlene A. Gulden, 54, of New Ulm died Sunday, February 14, 2010 as a result of a fire at her home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Saturday, February 20, 2010 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery. Monsignor Douglas Grams will celebrate the Mass.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 PM Friday and 7:30 - 10 AM Saturday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. There will be a parish prayer service at 7 PM Friday at the funeral home.
Marlene is survived by her mother, Elaine Schmidt of Redwood Falls; daughters, Jennifer Marks and her fiancé Aaron Wittrock of Mankato, Lisa Marks and her significant other, Destin Harrell of Cody, Wyoming, Rachel Marks of Mankato; a sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Gary Beilke of Hutchinson.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Marlene Ann Schmidt was born November 29, 1955 in Redwood Falls to Lloyd and Elaine (Frank) Schmidt. She was a 1974 graduate of Wabasso High School. After high school Marlene was employed at Zeiske Lumber in Wabasso. After moving to New Ulm where she was homemaker for many years, she was employed at Rivervine Produce and then Hy-Vee in the bakery. Marlene was united in marriage to David Gulden on June 20, 1998 in New Ulm. Marlene enjoyed gardening flowers and vegetables, sewing, cooking and was a big Minnesota Vikings fan. She loved her animals and spending time with family and friends. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to the Brown County Humane Society and the Brown County Area United Way.
