NEW ULM

 

Brandon Schaefer, 26, of New Ulm died Monday, March 15, 2010 at his home.  Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 20, 2010 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm with Pastor Bob Taylor officiating.  Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery in New Ulm. Full Military Honors will be conducted at the cemetery by the New Ulm Area Comrades of Valor Honor Guard. Visitation will be 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. 

 

Brandon is survived by his wife, Laura Schaefer of Glencoe; children, Chase and Jayden Schaefer of Glencoe, Logan Schultz of Kansas City, Missouri; parents, Glen and Brenda Schaefer of Brownton; father, Edward James of North Richland Hills,Texas; aunts and uncles, Teri and Frank Sellner of Sleepy Eye, David and Lisa Bruns of New Ulm, Mike Bruns and his special friend, Kim Hoffmann both of New Ulm, Pam and Kevin Schabert of Mankato, Lawrence Schaefer of Houston, Texas, Willis, Jr. and Linda Schaefer of New Ulm, Cecilia and Tim Fruhwirth of Moorhead, Mary and Ron Petrusek of Rosenberg, Texas, Grandparents, Lila Bruns, Mary and Willis Schaefer all of New Ulm, Janice James of Ivanhoe; nieces; nephews; and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Myron Bruns.

 

Brandon William Schaefer was born on May 10, 1983 in New Ulm.  On April 26, 2003 he was united in marriage to Laura Scharpe in Plato.  Brandon did construction and welding work.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with his children, fixing cars and had a love of trains.
