Brian is survived by his mother, Margaret Bauer of New Ulm; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Douglas Schmidt, Paula and Charles Achman all of New Ulm; a brother, Gregory Bauer and Sandra Brown of Mankato; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Achman, Ryan Schmidt, Andrew and Irene Achman. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; and by his father, Robert Bauer.
Brian was born August 28, 1957 in New Ulm to Robert and Margaret (Schumacher) Bauer. He was a 1975 graduate of Cathedral High School and a graduate of Southwest State University in Marshall. After graduating from college, Brian worked for the State of California in the State Controllers Office as an accountant. He moved back to New Ulm in 2003. Brian enjoyed painting, movies, his pet, Lucky Boots, and spending time with family and friends.
He was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity and the St. Joseph's Catholic Aid Council.
