Louise Gulden

Louise Gulden, 95, of New Ulm died Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at the Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye.
 
Mass  of Christian Burial will be 11 AM Friday, March 19, at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery. Father Mark Steffl will celebrate the Mass.
 
Visitation will be 4 - 7 PM Thursday and 7:30 - 10:30 AM Friday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. The Christian Mother's Society will pray the rosary at 4 PM Thursday at the Cathedral. There will be a parish prayer service at 6 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
 
 
Louise is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Delmar and Sharon Gulden of Villages, Florida, Ted and Terry Gulden of Granite Shoals, Texas; grandchildren, Scott of Burnsville, Brett of Savage; great-grandchildren, Michael and Rhea of Burnsville; a brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Adeline Saffert of New Ulm; sisters, Matilda Weymann, Elizabeth Schaefer and Marie Schimshock all of New Ulm; and a sister-in-law, Hildegard Saffert of New Ulm.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter on December 24, 2003; sisters, Amelia Weymann and Meta Kamm; brothers, Albin, Ambrose and Roman Saffert; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Harry Weymann, Richard Weymann, Carl Kamm, Salome Saffert, Ray Schimshock, Henry Schaefer and Leo Reinhart.
 
Louise Theresa Saffert was born June 27, 1914 in Lafayette Township, Nicollet County to Frank and Elizabeth (Hoffman) Saffert. She attended rural schools in Cottonwood Township, Brown County and St. Mary's Catholic Schools in New Ulm. Louise was united in marriage to Walter Gulden on May 4, 1937 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm. She was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, Christian Mother's Society and the St. Elizabeth's Catholic Aid Society.
